Video-Cellar thank you so much for posting this. I've always wanted to see one of Peter Gunn. I'm so grateful for all of your expertise in this field and these great rare shows.

Does you know if there are any public domain episodes of the following shows and the titles of any PD episodes?

Captain Gallant (I saw some released by Timeless Media)
i.e. The Informer's Map, Gallant's New Post, The Long Night, As Long as there are Arabs,prayer rug, carnival in zagora, dagger of judah, rodeo, dr legionnaire

Lassie (I would doubt from my research that this is public domain, but I saw that Mill Creek Entertainment just released a few in a large collection of 300 episodes)

US Marshal
(I know a lot of the original Sheriff of Cochise episodes are public domain, but what about after the show changed it's name to US Marshal? I've seen a few released by some largely PD distributors, Timeless, Mill Creek) (Quigs mentioned that there is one with Charles Bronson that is PD) i.e. Pursuit aka/ Army Escapee Pursuit, Stool Pigeion, Triple Cross, Kill or Be Killed, The Diner, Rest in Peace, Backfire, Ghost Town

Roy Rogers Show episode "Mountain Pirates" 4 November 1956 (Season 6, Episode 3) is it PD? It is one of my favorites.

The Texan

I have tried to do research on these and haven't been able to find anything

CAPTAIN GALLANT OF THE FOREIGN LEGION. 5 were registered as published films and not renewed. These are safe to use. Other episodes weren't registered or renewed, but there is an ownership agreement on the 65 eps lodged with the USCO, which suggests that the company that owns the series might claim protection as unpublished works for the other 60 titles.

CAPTAIN GALLANT OF THE FOREIGN
LEGION. Telepictures of Morocco. Made
by Frantel. Released by Television Programs
of America. 27 min. each, sd., b&w,

LP7813.
Carnival in Zagora. 27Mar55 (in notice:
1954); LP7809.
L'Esprit de Corps. 20Mar55 (in notice:

Fire Power. 27Feb55 (in notice: 1954);
LP7811.
Introduction Story. 21Nov54; LP7808.
Veils of Death. 20Feb55 (in notice: 1954);
LP7810.

LASSIE
One episode of "Jeff's Collie" (The Trial) and one of "Lassie" (The Treehouse) are PD.
Mill Creek seem to be moving into licensed material now. They have copyright series and movies distributed by the Peter Rogers Organisation (The Complete Robin Hood), Universal (Wiseguy, Ironside, Wanted:Dead or Alive), Classic Media/Entertainment Rights (He Man, Punky Brewster) and the Crown International Pictures catalogue coming out. Any Lassie set would probably be by arrangement with Lassie's owner Classic Media/Entertainment Rights.

SHERRIF OF COCHISE/US MARSHAL
All episodes of both shows were registered as published films. 40 of the 55 episodes of SOC were renewed only 1 of the 64 US Marshall eps was renewed. The Charles Bronson Ep is called "Pursuit" its one of the ones that wasn't renewed.

ROY ROGERS SHOW Mountain Pirates had its copyright renewed. 17 1956 episodes were renewed most of the other episodes were registered as unpublished works in 1987.

THE TEXAN
All 78 episodes were registered and renewed.

Thank you so much Video-Cellar!

Do you know what the titles of the fifteen PD Sheriff of Cochise and the one renewed US Marshal are? (Is the copyrighted one in the episodes I listed above or was I right and all those are PD?)

Now when you said that with the Roy Rogers Show that “most of the other episodes were registered as unpublished works in 1987”. Do you mean the episodes from 1956 or all in general? If so does that mean they are not public domain?

Just to clarify on Captain Gallant, since the rest are unpublished and because of that agreement listed USCO, does that mean that the other episodes, aside from those 5, cannot be uploaded, even though Alpha Video and several other predominantly PD companies have sold them?
